Tennessee Oncology Opens Third Cancer Care Clinic in East Tennessee

Tennessee Oncology, which provides care for nearly half of all cancer patients in the state, is proud to announce the opening of its third clinic in East Tennessee. Located in Louisville near Alcoa, this new clinic will expand access to high-quality cancer care for patients living in Knoxville and surrounding communities.

The Alcoa clinic marks Tennessee Oncology’s 38th cancer care location across Tennessee and North Georgia. It will be staffed by Esha Cannon, DO, and David Chism, MD—both experienced hematologists and oncologists with deep roots in the region.

Dr. Cannon, most recently with Thompson Oncology in Knoxville, previously served as Chief Oncology Fellow at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. Dr. Chism, a practicing oncologist most recently with Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville, served as the Center’s Medical Director of Clinical Research.

“Tennessee Oncology is deeply committed to delivering the highest quality cancer care to patients throughout East Tennessee, close to where they live and work,” said Natalie Dickson, MD, President and CEO of Tennessee Oncology. “Our new Alcoa clinic reflects that commitment by expanding access to cutting-edge treatments and clinical trials in the region.”

Tennessee Oncology is a nationally recognized, independent oncology practice offering comprehensive cancer care. Services include advanced clinical trials, personalized treatment plans, innovative care delivery models, and robust supportive care programs.

Founded in Nashville in 1976, Tennessee Oncology remains dedicated to its mission: providing high-quality cancer care and access to the latest clinical research—right in the communities that patients call home. Exceptional care should never be out of reach.
