Imaging
Tennessee Oncology offers PET, MRI and CT scans to diagnose cancer and measure the efficacy of treatment. While all these technologies use imaging to detect cancerous areas, they operate differently and can have different uses. PET scans find abnormal activity in the body to diagnose and assess cancer treatment, while CT scans take pictures to show images of body organs, tissues and bones. Similarly, MRI scanners render internal images of the body using magnet and radio waves.
