April is National Minority Health Month and during the week of April 11-17, the public recognizes National Minority Cancer Awareness Week.
While cancer affects every age, gender and race, minority populations in the United States experience higher rates of disease. This is due to a number of factors including higher rates of poverty in certain minority populations, a lack of access to information and more.
Along with non-profits and cancer organizations around the country, we work year round to raise awareness and decrease the disparities that Asian Americans, African Americans, Hispanics, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders and other groups face.
