Jeff Patton, MD, CEO, TENNESSEE ONCOLOGY

Happy almost spring! The Patton family enjoyed a winter reprieve with an early February beach vacation. We had the pleasure of both kids as well. It’s always great to reconnect with our adult children. Re-entry to the cold and grey was tough.

Tennessee Oncology and 2018 are off to a great start! Every new year is the season of payer changes. It’s a time-consuming necessity, but patients always come first. Thanks to all who make it seem like an easy, seamless process. I wish it were. I know it’s not.

A new year is a great time to review our Tennessee Oncology values. I’d like to touch on one a month. Our values are whom we strive to be in our professional lives, to justify the trust our patients have placed in all of us.

Value number one is service. Tennessee Oncology, by definition, is a physician services practice. Service is the core of who we are. The opportunity to serve is a privilege… pledged in our motto “Caring for Cancer Patients is a Privilege”.

No matter your faith or beliefs, we are blessed to have the opportunity to serve our patients, their families, our referring physicians and each other. I love this quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

I for one, feel blessed to serve alongside our patients and each and every one of you.
