Tennessee Oncology Opens First Radiation Oncology Center in Lebanon Expanding Access to World-Class Cancer Care

Nashville, TN – October 15, 2024 – Tennessee Oncology, a nationally recognized independent oncology practice that treats half of the state’s cancer patients across 35 clinics, is proud to open its first radiation oncology center in Lebanon, Tennessee. Located at 101 Physicians Way, the new Lebanon Radiation Center will offer advanced cancer treatment options to Middle Tennessee residents, bringing care closer to home.

With the launch of the new center, Tennessee Oncology welcomes Dr. Zachary Mayo, MD, a distinguished Radiation Oncologist and former Chief Resident at the Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Mayo brings extensive expertise and a commitment to personalized patient care, ensuring Middle Tennessee patients receive the same high-quality treatment typically found at major academic medical centers—without the need to travel long distances.

“We are thrilled to bring this innovative treatment option and a world-class physician to Middle Tennessee residents,” said Natalie Dickson, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tennessee Oncology.  “Tennessee Oncology has a deep commitment to bring patients the best possible cancer care close to where they live and work, and the addition of Dr. Mayo and the Lebanon Radiation Center furthers this commitment to our community.”

The Lebanon Radiation Center offers a comprehensive range of services, including advanced radiation therapies designed to improve outcomes, and enhance patient comfort by providing symptom relief related to a patient’s cancer. Tennessee Oncology’s commitment to innovation and accessibility ensures that patients in the region have access to the best possible cancer care, right in their own backyard.

Therapeutic radiation is a commonly used cancer treatment that has the potential to improve cancer cure rates. It is estimated that over half of patients with cancer will benefit from radiation during their treatment.

The opening of the Lebanon Radiation Oncology Center comes on the heels of Tennessee Oncology adding two highly respected gynecological oncologists, Michael Stany, MD and Jason Barnett, MD. Tennessee Oncology also recently added Laura Lawson, MD and Eduardo C. Dias, MD, who both practice at the Nashville Breast Center.  Tennessee Oncology also recently added medical oncologists, Karl Rogers, MD and Carl Willis, MD, who practiced at Nashville Oncology Associates.
