Are you ready for some football? Fall and football go great together- here’s wishing your teams a winning season! It looks like the Titans may be competitive this year so let’s hope for more hometown excitement.

It’s apparently wedding season. Mary and I attended a wedding with Ashley this weekend. We really enjoyed having her in town and especially seeing many of her high school and college friends. Evan was in Atlanta for a fraternity brother’s engagement party so unfortunately he was unable to be with us.

“Sometimes I get the feeling that the world is against me, but deep down
I know that is not true. Some of the smaller countries are neutral.”

– Robert Orben

That quote really resonates with me during our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) conversion. It’s likely that most of you have shared this sentiment from time to time over the past few months. An EMR conversion is certainly frustrating enough to evoke this thought trail. But the end is near and I want to congratulate everyone involved and thank you for your perseverance.

It is said that, “Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard.” Corny but rings true. When life looks hard, it’s best to take a deep breath, make a list of things to do, put your head down and get to work. We have to look no further than our patients, who show us everyday, the value of the present moment and the spirit of perseverance. Thanks to each of you for steadfastly embracing the EMR as a resource, to continually improve and deliver a better experience, for our patients in communities across middle and east Tennessee.

All the best,

Jeff
