After careful consideration for the health and safety of patients, attendees, the entire cancer community, and global efforts to stem the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we, the Board of Directors of the Community Oncology Alliance (COA), have made the obvious decision to cancel the in-person COA Conference.
However, in exciting news, COA is taking the 2020 Community Oncology Conference virtual! It will take place on the same dates, April 23-24, 2020, except will come to you live from virtual presenters across the country.
As we have said from the first update on the Conference, the COA Board is committed to continuing with the 2020 Conference in order to share valuable content and lessons with the broader oncology community. Cancer and all the issues we deal with in the trenches won’t stop during this COVID-19 crisis – and we won’t either!
The virtual 2020 COA Conference (#COA2020) will be bigger and better than ever. We have a fantastic educational agenda planned that will truly benefit our nationwide workforce of community oncology professionals and allied industries. It will be delivered through a cutting-edge webcast system with engaging and interactive features.
Details on registration and how to join us for this exciting virtual Conference will be released very soon. If you want to stay updated, please sign up here.
We sincerely hope that you will join us and support the virtual #COA2020 Conference. This will be a tremendous opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and grow during these very difficult times. The agenda we have planned – and will add to, including any updates on how practices are dealing with COVID-19 – is fantastic and packed with actionable knowledge you can take back to your patients, practices, and peers.
These are times of unprecedented and unimaginable challenges for our health care system. The COA Board is committed to ensuring we are here for everyone now and in the coming months.
In case you are not aware, to help clinicians and administrators treat and reduce the scale of this pandemic, COA has created a new public page with tools and resources, along with an email listserv for providers to share information on best practices in providing safe patient care.
