Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Parkridge Medical Center has partnered with Tennessee Oncology to provide “leading-edge” radiation oncology treatments to patients in the community. “The collaboration enhances the broad spectrum of cancer services offered at Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Parkridge Medical Center,” officials said.
“Cancer treatment plans can be complex and require multispecialty care,” said Michael Howard, chief of Medical Physics at Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Parkridge Medical Center. “With the expansion of our collaboration with Tennessee Oncology, we now have medical oncologists and radiation oncologists on one campus, creating a more seamless treatment process for patients in our communities.”
The services provided at Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Parkridge Medical Center include external beam therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. The facility is also the only cancer center in the area that offers intraoperative radiation therapy, according to officials.
